Tuesday Seeds: 2024 Highlights & Exciting Plans for 2025

As the year winds down, Texas Small Farmers and Ranchers/CBO Tuesday Seeds wraps up 2024 by celebrating remarkable milestones and unveiling an ambitious vision for 2025. This past year has been a testament to the power of community, innovation, and sustainable farming practices. Here’s a closer look at our highlights and what lies ahead.

Milestones That Defined 2024

  1. Soil-to-Profit Training Cohort
Launched in May, the Soil-to-Profit training cohort became a cornerstone for farmer education and collaboration. Farmers connected through immersive field days, online meetups, and dynamic workshops. Beyond the training, the friendships and shared experiences cultivated a network that broke the isolation often felt in the farming community.
  2. Statewide Outreach Boot Camps
Spanning the vast landscape of Texas, our outreach boot camps brought regenerative agriculture to underserved communities. By demystifying soil health and sustainable practices, these events empowered farmers with knowledge delivered in a relatable and accessible format.
  3. Monthly Knowledge Forums
The Knowledge Forums were a platform for farmers to explore transformative topics like solar energy and land access. These discussions not only provided actionable insights but also inspired new farmers and urban gardeners to pursue their agricultural ambitions.
  4. Farmer Spotlights
We celebrated Texas farmers’ successes on podcasts, news platforms, and beyond. These stories showcased resilience, innovation, and the indomitable spirit of our farming community.

Looking Ahead: Plans for 2025

With 2024’s success as a foundation, 2025 promises to be even more groundbreaking. Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store:

  • Local Food Purchasing Program
Launching as a pilot in Dallas, this initiative will strengthen connections between farmers and local food systems. National mentors are helping refine the program, ensuring a seamless roll-out to other Texas communities.
  • Expanded Training Opportunities
The second cohort of Soil-to-Profit launches this spring, featuring advanced regenerative agriculture practices, financial training, and market readiness tools.
  • Youth Garden Club
We’re planting seeds for the future with the creation of a youth garden club, aiming to inspire and educate the next generation of agricultural leaders.
